COLUMBIA CITY — A new screen printing business has opened in Whitley County called Beary Crafty Designs, LLC.
It was started by Jonathon Strack, who said, “I’ve wanted to start this business for a while and finally decided the time was right to pull the trigger.”
He was supported in his efforts with business advice and marketing assistance through the Northeast Indiana Small Business Development Center.
The business will focus on printing apparel and hats and can be printed on different types of surfaces including fabric, paper, wood and plastic. It offers full color opportunities and will not require a minimum order. Strack says his company will be able to print prepared designs that will be presented to him, as well as create custom designs for clients.
Strack is a veteran and seeks to actively support other veteran-owned businesses and veteran organizations in his work.
He is also a member of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. His connection to the Whitley County community was instrumental in establishing his business here.
“I’ve put down roots in Columbia City and want to serve the community with my work and my time,” Strack said.
It states that products should be delivered to customers within five to seven business days, provided there are no disruptions or shipping delays. Beary Crafty Designs works with businesses and organizations in Northeastern Indiana, Southern Michigan and Northwestern Ohio.
Strack said Beary Crafty Designs, LLC is a family business and part of his hope is that as he grows he can add associates to his team who support this mission. Plans also include launching a website, as well as participating in social media such as Facebook and Instagram.
Strack also actively supports youth programs and hopes to continue to do so in the future.
“Future models for growth include Beary Crafty Designs internships at local schools to encourage entrepreneurial thinking skills, time management skills and other valuable experiences for high school students,” Strack said.
