At its upcoming Peak Performance Print Experience event, Fujifilm will demonstrate its new Jet Press FP790 water-based flexible packaging inkjet press via a direct link to Japan.
The event will take place on September 28 and 29 at Fujifilm’s Advanced Print Technology Center in Brussels, where its Jet Press B2 high-speed inkjet press and printing offering will also be showcased.
The Jet Press FP790 flexible packaging model will be presented by Manuel Schrutt, who was appointed Head of Packaging for EMEA earlier this year, from Japan via a live link.
The press uses water-based inks and is believed to be a development of the Eucon technology preview shown at drupa 2016. It also builds on experience gained in Japan from its water-jet press. 540WV UV ink.
The FP790 has a web width of 790mm and operates at 50m/min, printing CMYK at 1200 x 1200 dpi. The press will be officially launched in 2023.
Fujifilm said the event would allow customers across Europe to see the latest developments in its “rapidly expanding digital printing portfolio”, which includes its new Revoria toner devices for some markets, but not yet for the UK.
For this reason, on September 28, Fujifilm will welcome visitors from the UK and France, while September 29 will involve customers and partners from Revoria’s markets.
Taro Aoki, head of digital press solutions at Fujifilm Europe, said the company was delighted to be hosting the event again after last year’s inaugural release.
“The first event was a huge success and we look forward to showcasing our latest technologies at this year’s event,” he said.
“The high-speed Jet Press 750S model leads the market in quality and performance, while our printing solution provides the flexibility needed for digital transformation. We look forward to showcasing our extensive portfolio in our Advanced Print Technology Center and demonstrating how print businesses can achieve optimum print performance with Fujifilm technology.
New features for the Jet Press 750S High Speed model will be showcased at the event, where customers including Henning Rose, CEO of Germany-based Wegner, will share first-hand how Fujifilm technology has helped transform their businesses .
Mark Stephenson, Director of Digital Press and Printing at Fujifilm Europe, said: “Manuel will be showing the FP790 from our labs in Japan, so visitors can ask him questions about specific aspects of the press. We will also have printed samples available for people to take away.
“We also have two new features to show you about the Jet Press 750S HS. These are further enhancements to the platform that prove it’s still growing and gaining new stuff ten years later – it’s still going strong. And we now have a complete printing system demo bench in Brussels to demonstrate our printing bars, because with printing, the requirements are different for each customer.
Stephenson said there would also be a connection to the recently acquired Unigraphica inkjet integration facility in Lichtenstein.
