Your grandmother’s falling apart ring doesn’t have to stay at the bottom of your jewelry box. The idea of a creative alliance should not stay in your head.

Clarksville Jewelers can repair, duplicate or design just about anything you can imagine, using state-of-the-art scanning, CAD and 3D printing technology.

The newly renovated store is locally owned and family owned. Clarksville Jewelers specializes in the design and creation of custom jewelry. The personal touches of customer desires and wishes are their top priority.

The process begins with meeting with a client to see what they are looking for, according to master jeweler Andrew Schmidt. They may have ideas for a custom piece, or they may have things saved on Pinterest to help with the design.

If a client has an engagement ring, but needs a unique ring to match, Andrew starts by doing a 360 degree scan of the ring. A CAD drawing is produced. Then he designs a ring that matches perfectly with the engagement ring, as if they were created at the same time.

If he’s designing an engagement ring, Andrew starts with the center stone and ring size, then designs from there. He can modify the CAD drawing to change the shape and size of the stone in the drawing. A rendering is then created and sent to the client for approval.

Once the design is approved, Clarksville Jewelers uses a 3D printer to create a model of the ring. This model can be tried on so that the customer can see what the ring will look like when finished.

The model is cleaned and hardened with the highest quality resin. The metal is poured, cooled, polished and cleaned, and the finishing touches to the mounting of the stones can begin.

Collaboration with the customer

From start to finish, the creation of these unique pieces is a collaboration between the client and Andrew, whose designs are sought after nationwide. No one will have a piece of jewelry that was never made for someone else. They can also add a personalized message or engraving inside your ring.

Clarksville Jewelers has been serving Clarksville and surrounding areas since 1993.
